Jumphouse Gymnastics Centre Recreational Program

The Jumphouse Gymnastics Centre bases its recreational classes on the
Cangym Program, which was created by Gymnastics Canada for boys and girls aged 6 and up. Cangym is a progressive program that allows your child to earn badges for their gymnastics achievement. Although the badges offer coaches a tool to monitor and evaluate progressions, our main focus is to provide a program that allows all children to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. Our classes are all based on the Fun, Fitness and FUNdamentals of gymnastics.

Each class has a duration of 1 1/2 to 2 hours, once a week, depending on the level. Our sessions run for 10-12 weeks. With enough interest, we may also add a recreational class that participates 2x a week, for those who would like a little bit more!

                                                         Badge Levels

The progression of the Cangym badges is as follows:

Burgundy, Red, Tan, Bronze, Purple, Blue, Turquoise, Silver, Orange, Yellow, Green, Grey, White, Gold

Please note:

-- the burgundy and red badges are basic and tend to be easier to get through, sometimes completed in the
same session. However, as the badge levels increase, so does the level of difficulty, and it often takes more than one session to complete a badge level.

-- certain elements in each level MUST be attained before moving on to the next badge level

-- coming from a different club or from a break in training may result in re-evaluation of skill level

-- this year we are making a transition from having age-based classes to having badge-based classes. When possible we will keep similar ages together

Tumble and Cheer

Tumble and Cheer was so popular last year that we have decided to go one step further! This year we will have a recreational cheer, that trains for 1 hour a
week, as well as a competitive cheer team, that will train for 3 hours a week.

                                                      Hip, Hip, Hurray!!!!
